What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are.

It requires a second factor (form of authentication) in addition your username and password to gain access and getting that second factor requires access to something that belongs to you.

It works by combining “something you know” (i.e., your username and password) with “something you have” (i.e., a time-based one-time access code to your phone) to gain access to your online account.

Your access to the online portal requires the following information:

  1. A Username & Password (you set up during registration)
  2. A one-time access code (sent to your contact number)
